If you take the film and press it yourself, follow these steps for a strong, lasting bond. Temperature, time and peeling method depend on the film type; we include them with your order.
What you need
- A heat press gives even, durable results. A household iron is only a stopgap for small designs and needs a test first.
- Teflon or baking paper to cover the film while pressing.
- A clean, dry garment with no creases at the print area.
Steps
- Pre-press the garment for a few seconds to remove moisture and creases.
- Place the design: adhesive side down, centered, use a ruler if needed.
- Cover with Teflon paper.
- Press at the temperature, time and pressure we give for your film.
- Peel the film as instructed (hot or cold peel), slowly and evenly.
- Press again briefly with paper on top for a stronger bond and a nicer finish.
If edges lift
- Re-press the edges with Teflon paper on top.
- Check that your press reaches full heat with even pressure.
- Thick fabric or raised seams: add a pad so the pressing surface is flat.
Washing after pressing
- Wait 24 hours after pressing before washing.
- Wash inside out in normal water, avoid hot tumble drying.
- Do not iron directly on the print.
